Hehe! Awesome awesome quote (Casino Royale). And basically, this entry is just a shameless rant about how much I loved it. Initially, I had some reservations about Daniel Craig...kinda a nobody...blond...yeeeah. But I went to see it anyways, and dear lord, best thing to happen to the franchise since Sean Connery! Ack! He is marvelous. And Eva Green (the bond girl: Vesper Lynd)? Beautiful, I adore her freckles (if you want more of her I highly recommend The Kingdom of Heaven - she is also very hot in that one). Anywho, you should all go see it, despite the length it carries the story on marvelously, and again, Daniel Craig is a breath of fresh air to this franchise. I plan to see it a second time ASAP.

One last quote:

Alrighty.

Got my drivers license today...whoo!

I'm going to start making my journal friends only...which means going back through 3+ years of entries and changing them all to friends...joy.

I have much packing, etc. to do. (a bit premature, but I would like stressish free days on Tuesday and Wednesday)

So, Zach and Amy's awesome performances (loved the wigs) have put Total Eclipse of the Heart in my head for the entire day...hasn't left yet (although Dare and Build Me Up Buttercup sometimes took over). Regardless, Valentines was nice, laid back, involving dispensing of brownies (because iron chef club doesnt really deserve it) and receiving of truffles!

I am so happy my commentary is over. I was incredibly lucky (not lucky enough to get Aunt Jennifer's Tigers, but that's totally alright) and got the last section from Pride and Prejudice. Yes Mr. Bennett not understanding Lizzy! And I didn't stumble over my words that much, which was pleasing. Our english department is awesomely cool.

I could have sworn I had some more content to put into this entry...at the moment it is failing me. Side note, I wouldn't suggest wearing sandals anytime soon because it is quite cold out, especially at night.

The most gorgeous laptop ever (kinda, it could be more powerful...but it's still wonderful) )

Quick! Important! Does anyone know what the choral piece that French skater Dambier did his short program to? It wasn't a very good program comparatively...but his music was SO familiar...

I realized today that my new hatred of Guild Wars has developed because of the emotional attachement I had for it. I know what you're thinking "Elise! It's only a game, why can't you become emotionally attached to your new Gucci heels or Chanel No.5 like the rest of us?". If only it were that simple. You see, dear sweet world, GW and I were like *this* we were a team, we spent over a year together! I stuck with that relationship even when there weren't pretty graphics and music. But then *sniffs* then you got boring, you didn't change! Even when we asked, even when you said it would happen in a month...oh no...it never did. I just can't be content with your meager PvP and the left-over plot lines you throw at us and call coherent. So I've left you Guild Wars! And I won't be happy with you ever again. Yes...yes...I know you don't really deserve my hatred, but it's the only way I can heal. I've found someone new, by the way, Oblivion (yes, that's right, better graphics too), but I won't be making the same mistake I did with you.

Ahem. Now that I've frightened you all...

The movie in history was quite cool! Reminded me of Allende and Chile, and now I'm all jazzed for our senior seminar (Lila! We should play some of that there! Er...the movie not jazz, but either way it works), I'm also reminded why the Irish are hot: sexy sexy accents.

I have a new stuffed animal (thank you Tim ^_^)! And she's the cutest lamb EVER, her name is Florence, and all shall bow down to her glory (eventually).

If you haven't gathered, I'm feeling rather odd today...oh! On a side note, Andrew let me know if you want to have my latest PC Gamer (they have a thing on the AI in Oblivion, I think they are just as obsessed as you...well...maybe)

So, I'm following the trend of bitching about bad days! Only I'm not cutting it, because I don't think (at the moment) that I have much to say...of course I'll end up surprising myself by ranting for like...a pretty sizeable paragraph about something, but we'll just have to see.

Mike's ToK project is shockingly godly, we're all screwed, so so screwed. Regardless, I'm also really happy about it because it just shows people that "kids" can do things.

Checked math grade during break. Not what I had hoped (my dad is ready, honestly, to call up a militia or something...it's somewhat vexing), so, that sparked the bad mood all day. The amount of people who actually cared about it, and got all ranty about Evenhus for me was really awesomely nice. (Amy, your jokes about the laptop thingy were especially helpful) Also, unexpectedly getting dark chocolate from a certain someone was quite lovely.

Definitely went through the five stages of whatever its called, I'm borderline acceptance, my parents are at bargaining. Hah.

I did get in a better mood after school/on the way home, because it was gorgeous, and I was all photographing in my head...but then I got stressed and annoyed at the fact that I cant come up with an idea for a logo for our ToK project. Hopefully I'll have a moment of brilliance sometime this week.

I figure I should update since it has been about a week...(and yes, I had thought of making it like a really bad public case without a resolution...but I decided against that).

Finals happened! We all know about that, blah blah blah. French was frusturating at times and I think I royally screwed up some grammar, but I didn't do too poorly on that WWII section (thank you Curry!). Math...well, wasn't as difficult as it could have been. I made a stupid 1-point mistake and probably got one or two of the related rate problems wrong (I'm praying that Neil didn't get them all correct). But my derivatives and antiderivates were probably right. The Scheffler final was more difficult than I had though, I ended up guessing (well, "educated guessing") on quite a few questions, but learned last night that I beasted that test...surprising to say the least.

Linfield wasn't as crappy as it has been in previous years, largely because Erin and Zach broke. But honestly, Much Ado About Nothing? How the hell did they win? Their sight-lines were off and everything! Damn you not paying attention to technicalities. And you know what else? Damn you first time judges from the surrounding area, especially when given to two award-winning public teams. *fist shake*

The Summit and Lincoln debate teams need to hook up and get married, honestly, we'd have the most crazy awesome debate/IErs ever. And the hotness? Yes the hotness!

So now I'm avoiding work on my ToK essay and Mock Trial questions...neither of which are going to go well.

Now I think I'm going to go intoning.

ETA: I *heart* Willamette, they called to let me know my app was complete! Thank you! And my kitty is adorable, all perched on the back of the couch so she can be closer to me.

I went into Calc. during flex today to review all my old tests, and you know what? I think I can do this. I kicked ass on all the tests up until derivatives, and I think I know what I did wrong there. At this point my biggest issue is going to be Rolle's theorem (which isnt THAT difficult), some of the other more recent stuff, related rates *shudders*, and just making sure I didn't forget everything in chapters 1 and 2. Even better is the chemistry final, which will be much more managable than they were last year. Yayness!

Well, there is one bad spot on the horizon: French synonyms...blargh.

For some reason I have been craving something with tomato/marinara in it, like lasagna, or pizza with lots and lots of sauce...unfortunately we have neither at my house.

In other news, things have been delightfully entertaining lately (probably a result of my relative delirium induced by my cold thing).

Have fun studying mes chers.

Well, we all know that when one is updating one's lj, it is generally done in order to avoid other work. In this case, I'm trying not to make up my direct and cross questions for mock trial, you know why? Because my witness is heinously...just...heinous. Yes. She is that bad. Apparently, has never heard of physics, relies upon a witness statement for her conclusion that simply does not exist (because we took the case from CA and they use four witnesses, we use three...so some of the statements got thrown out)...that was also not a complete sentence (well, screw grammar).

More big and scary however, is my calculus final. Assuming she adds 5 homework assignments, I'll end up needing a 94.1 on the final to get a 90 in the class. So, all of you people who have had Evenhus finals...is that remotely possible?

And here's the thing, I wouldn't be nearly as angry if I thought I might "ruin" my GPA with like...Chemistry, or history, or something of the sort. Because in those classes, the teachers are good, and it would simply be my "fault" or inability to perform that highly homework/test wise. But in this case! Ugh. Yes, I didn't do well on all her tests, blah blah blah. She's a poor teacher, which is compounded by the fact that our class is horrific...I can't work under these conditions!!! *grumbles*

Bah...back to question writing.

ETA: I'm amused that I just spent the last 30 minutes revising, and re-revising one 5 sentence paragraph in my history essay. Granted it is the most important essay. I've become addicted to roadmapping my essays! (and yes, that was the roadmapping paragraph)

By the way, if any of you want some Bruno Pelletier just IM me or something.

The last few days have been interesting. I certainly spent my time over the weekend in a rather pointless manner, although it did involve a bit of very frusturated shopping that devolved into a rant about the fashion industry and colors according to seasons...but we won't get into that.

Apparently most teams at the PSU tournament had never heard of proper tournament etiquette...or at least all the kids in the Duo final (which, I might add, was horrific). On the bright side, I think our duo is no finally within the time limit!

Some very interesting things have been happening as of late. On one hand, I now have a terribly obnoxious back injury which has given me the chance (unfortunately for all of you) to go into rants about dense pastries and walking down hills! On the other, dramatic changes in relationships across the board! The next couple of days should prove to be quite interesting.

Today started out mediocre, but boy did it get better! I spent some time working on the Daisy Miller duo, and frowning because it didn't seem terribly interesting. But on the bright side we got to totally skip french (I went to Fred Meyers where the cashier was quite nice) and had an awesome lab where Alex and I macerated oranges. Blood oranges are teh win (zor) *cough*

To my surprise our G4 poster is now finished, and it looks hella organized and really really hard to read (Times size 12 font!). But Alex drew the Vesuvian (whatever) man as a runner, which is pretty amusing. Our title? "Running with Physics" we also had such headers as "Physics is Phun!" and "To run or weight?"

(And Jasmine, the only reason people made comments was because they were worried about you, not because you were snappish. We just noticed that you looked a bit off, etc.)

Anywho! Highlight of the day was going over to Tim's. First off, we decided that our duo WAS pretty boring, which led to a bunch of ideas (mainly rambling by yours truly...woah...deja vu!) and then the brilliant decision to check out Asimov's Prelude to Foundation. Turns out I had kind of forgotten how brilliant the man was at constructing interesting/natural dialoge (etc) and we found the perfect duo...I think! Needless to say, it also fits our personality/relationship fairly well, so I'm psyched. Then I watched some Firefly. I'm in love! KAYLEE!!! She is SO SO SO cute! The umbrella! And the chair! And the hair! She also reminds me of THE kk. *fuzziness* so so so adorable. Anywho, love the show, its brilliant, I must watch more.

Well! That's all I have to say tonight folks. Hope you're all having fun doing your respective things.

Toodles.

Pacific was a relative success, Andrew is a partner from the gods. Yay! That's all I'm going to say about that (aside from the fact that Brad and Alex are freaking awesome and they are fuzzy and you know...we should both gang up and kill that Sprague team, twould make me happy, go Viagra ties!)

Things have been very tense this week, don't know why exactly. On the bright side the calc test went well...oh, and Swarthmore interview guy? Did NOT like him. He was so bland, and honestly, I never thought an attorney could be THAT bad at phrasing questions.

Seriously though, is it just me, or a lot of people tense/frusturated? This week *fist shake* fuck it. (and no longer applying to Reed, hah.)

And I cannot carry a complete train of thought right now...Kyle really should dump me as a ToK partner, I'm terrible.

A few side notes: check out Elder Scrolls IV(?) Oblivion, it's awesome. Going to be the best RPG to hit the market in years. (definitely)

P.S. No commentary for me tomorrow, and if I must, NOT on Annie Dillard.

Today was pretty freaking awesome, I have to say. Woke up this morning and was incredibly (rofling so) amused by Max, even though it was more likely that I'd be pissed off. Definitely one of those "haha, it's so ridiculous it's funny!" moments. And then I left my purse on the bus! That was also really funny, for some bizarre reason. Of course I had full confidence that it would return to me safely, and Ms. Jenkins was awesome and let me camp out at the bus stop. Bwahahaha, I got it back! And got to watch the sunrise! Which you can't see from the english class.

I didn't fall asleep in ToK OR Chemistry, I think that's a record, or something notable...maybe. Oh, and history? I love that class, way too much. And I already know my research paper topic! On the downside, however, Ms. Snyder proclaimed to the class that I was well versed with the Chilean coup...here's hoping she's right. (Craig, I want to read your EE by the way)

I've been listening to An Honest Mistake on repeat the entire day, so much fun. I was rocking out to it in the library (silently of course, with lots of headbobbing) and totally freaked out some girl sitting at the table. But she was this prissy sophomore, so it was cool.

Mock trial is going to be interesting, I love the team though! Not so sure about my roles...expert witnesses are bitchy.

ETA: *eyes narrow* apparently I can't do any photography during the week, and I had just gotten everything set up the way I wanted. *fumes*

Update time!

I'm in Sunriver, it is snowing (lots and lots) and I just took like 8 pictures or so that probably wont come out because snow is fickle (well, not really, you just have to know what you're doing, and that takes trial and error). Getting down here was the tough part. Our train was supposed to depart Portland around 2pm, but it kept getting pushed back, and back, and finally we left at 9pm and got into Sunriver at (drum roll please) 6am! 9 hours after we were supposed to. Yay! Still on the subject of Sunriver, I am now convinced that one finds a lot more guys during winter than in summer. Back me up on that Amy? Another question, is anyone else down here?

I have decided that come spring (or maybe summer) I want to take a bunch of day trips around Oregon, mainly for photography purposes.

So! I should probably go, buckle down, and work on that Java thing...by the way, programming sucks.

On a side side note, has anyone here read ANY of Asimov's Foundation books?

So...this morning I was you know, an ungrateful wretch (more or less). Pretty let down that I didn't get my pair of black and white fans or those boots. However! Boots will come tomorrow, and fans will come as soon as I can find them. Presents were actually more spread out between my birthday and today. A few days ago Valencia came into my life. I bequeathed Vanessa (the iPod of Doom) to my sister. Valencia is lovely with her collection of photographs and badassary (and is therefore more an iPod of Doom than Vanessa).

I *heart* my moss-green purse! Yay!

Perhaps my favorite present though? Vintage pin-up calendar. So so SO cute!!!

Anywho, mood definitely rose after I was able to vent to a few people, and I am now sitting in my comfy bathrobe, glad that I didnt run into anyone driving back from Salem (icky weather!)
